Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club is for the enjoyment of members in good standing, their families, and guests. A guests is anyone invited to the Club. You, the member, must be present to sign in your guest and assume all responsibility for providing food and drink as you would in your own home. There will be no “Dutch treats.”

No person shall be a guest in the Club more than five (5) times in any one year. This includes a guest coming for meals. All guests must be signed in by a member and paid for by a member.

These house rules apply to ladies’ luncheons and fleet dinners. The individual fleet captain is responsible for enforcement of these rules at fleet dinners.

All service charges over thirty (30) days are subject to action by the Board of Directors.

Table reservations are not permitted at the Club. Bring only the number of guests, at one time, that can be accommodated without infringing on members’ enjoyment of the Club.

All sail and power boats on trailers must be parked in the Boat Yard.

Location of buoys will be assigned by fleet captain.

Dogs are not permitted at the Club with or without leashes.

Automated parking restrictions must be obeyed.

Parents are responsible for the care and conduct of their children.

The bar room is closed to children except at meal time or when accompanied by parents. Children must not sit at the bar.

Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, or other vehicular toys, are not to be ridden or parked on the dock, lawn or patios. Parking is limited to the rack areas. Use of skateboards or roller blades is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

Children must stay out of locker rooms unless using their lockers or unless accompanied by their parents.

Children swimming from the Yacht Club property must be under the supervision of their parents or the Junior Program.

Children are not permitted to operate or play with winches or hoists. Parents will be responsible for making sure their children are aware of this prohibition.

Place all trash and empties in containers provided.

Use of the Club at other than regular operating hours or for private parties must be arranged through the house chairman. Any use of the Club for such private affairs must include the use of the Club bar and kitchen.

The dinghy is maintained for serving craft at buoys and for emergencies. It is not to be used otherwise.

The snack bar is operated for the service and convenience of the Club members. To insure its continued operation, please patronize it and refrain from bringing food, snacks and beverages onto Yacht Club property.

The bar is also operated to serve our members. During it regular operating hours, the consumption of beverages not purchased at the bar is prohibited.

The ABC Laws required that guests be signed in and that a member be responsible for payment for his guests. A violation of the ABC Board rules does endanger the Club and could result in the loss of the liquor license.

Children are not allowed on the dock unless accompanied by an adult.

Rules Regarding Slips

1. The board will establish the slip fees consistent with what they deem appropriate by March of each year. For the 2002 Season, $600.
2. Slip occupants must be Full Members. Current occupants of slips will be given preference to maintain their occupancy and will be billed in March.
3. By April 30 of a new season preferred occupants MUST be paid in full with membership and slip fee. If not their slip will be considered "available".
4. At dock in day each year, available slips will be announced and formally publicized and posted.
5. Members interested in available slips will notify the Lofts and Lockers Director in writing (mail or email) prior to the start of the regularly scheduled May Board meeting.
6. Those interested must be fully paid Full Members in good standing to be considered.
7. Members interested will be entered in a lottery to be held at the regular Board Meeting the third week in May. Preference will be given in the order of draw.
8. Members selected will pay slip fee by May 30 or lose it to the next member of preference.
